The Central Academic Building (CAB) at the University of Alberta occupies a prime location on the main campus, making it a natural location for students to congregate, rest, study, and socialize.
The CAB revitalization scope included new finishes, furniture and graphics, as well as mechanical and electrical upgrades. Large-scale feature millwork was incorporated at the entry points of adjoining buildings to facilitate wayfinding, as well as graphic wall coverings added colour and visual interest. The original solid guard rail around the central atrium was replaced on three levels with glass rails, filling the space with light.
